700 bln tomans participation bonds allocated for metro & bus renovation in Qom

The Deputy of Finance and Economy of Qom Municipality announced the allocation of 700 billion Tomans of participation bonds for the metro project and the refurbishing of the city buses in the last days of 1400.

Seyyed Morteza Hesamnejad, referring to the allocation of 700 billion tomans of participation bonds to Qom Municipality, stated that the license for these participation bonds was issued on March 19, 2022.

He said that these participation bonds have been allocated for two important issues, adding 600 billion of these bonds are related to the urban train project and 100 billion of which are related to the modernization of the public transport fleet.

The financial and economic deputy of Qom Municipality went on to note the final sale of these bonds will be done until September of the current year and the amount will be deposited in the municipality’s account for spending on these two projects.

He pointed out that the city train is ready for hot testing and then operation, so it needs a lot of foreign exchange, equipment, and facilities needs.

Therefore, this amount is a good help to advance this project, the municipality official added.

“We are in a better situation in terms of buses because in the last two years, the buses of Qom Municipality have been refurbished and now we have good conditions compared to other metropolises, he reiterated.
