UNDP envoy stresses necessity of defining operational solutions created on Iran general policies

The representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Iran says that based on the general policies of Iran, our plans are focused on developing the regional economy and providing regional solutions, and we are trying to find ways to increase regional investment.

In a meeting with Dr. Saghaiannejad, mayor of Qom, Claudio Providas described Qom as a world-famous city.

A number of my family have been to Iran and I have a historical connection with Iran and I am quite familiar with the Iranian Islamic culture and we had plans to visit the city of Qom which had not been realized until today due to the corona outbreak, he stated.

The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) has gained 50 years of experience from the United Nations in determining whether or not to carry out some operational work in countries, and in developing countries we know it is necessary to focus on cities, he added.

He went on to note that the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) duty is to provide solutions.

Our task is not executive work and we only offer solutions, and if I were a minister in my own country, I would have used the full capacity of this organization, he reiterated.

Iran, as a member of the United Nations with a long history of interaction with its organs, can use the proposed solutions based on its own interests, the UNDP envoy concluded.
