UNDP rep. in Iran meets with mayor of Qom

On a one-day trip to Qom, a representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Iran, Claudio Providas,  met with Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad, Mayor of Qom.

According to reporters, in Qom, Claudio Providas met with Dr. Saghaiannejad, Mayor of Qom, for expansion of interaction and cooperation.

UNDP Resident Representative considers supporting research programs in municipalities as one of the most important goals of the organization.

In the field of environmental and population research, the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) can support and contribute to municipalities, he said.

The mayor of Qom, for his part,  emphasized the municipality’s readiness to cooperate with this organization in various fields of environment, waste, and transportation.
UNDP, in coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, cooperates with various organizations and institutions in Iran, including municipalities, on sustainable development in various fields, including urban areas, and Qom Municipality cooperates with UNDP to use technical and educational assistance.
