Finnish amb. stresses capacity of technology transfer between Qom & Finland

The Finnish ambassador to Iran says Finland is ready to transfer knowledge and technology in various fields of urban management, including smart city and waste management.

Kari Kahiluoto made the remarks in a meeting with the mayor of Qom which was held in the building of the municipality.on Wednesday.

Referring to his reason for visiting Qom, he stated, “It is important for us to know better the different areas of cooperation between the two countries.”

There are many areas for cooperation between Iran and Finland, some of which are related to economic issues and others to scientific issues, he noted.

The Finnish ambassador to Iran pointed out that some part of the cooperation capacity between the two countries was neglected.

He went on to say that we in Finland are interested in economic relations with Iran.

Touching upon the capacities of cooperation between Iran and Finland in the field of urban management, he said,  “A lot of efforts have been made to develop the concept of a green city in Finland, and in this field, we are ready to transfer our experiences to other countries.”

The Finnish ambassador highlighted that the country has been successful in the field of smart cities:

Perhaps one reason we were able to manage the Corona issue well was the existence of the digital infrastructure that we have worked on in the past, he added.

He concluded that waste to energy conversion is one of the areas in which Finland has worked on it very well and there are many Finnish companies operating in other countries, including the Middle East, in the field of waste management.
