Municipality of Qom holds cycling event to mark Fajr Decade

A big cycling event was held on the occasion of the Fajr Decade with the participation of the Cultural, Social, and Sports Organization of Qom Municipality.

The large cycling event on the occasion of the Fajr Decade with the cooperation of the provincial Islamic guards, the cultural, social, and sports organization of Qom Municipality, and the 19-Dey base was held on Friday in Qom with the participation of more than 1,000 teenagers and young people.

Cyclists from the five routes of Mofid Square, Nabovvat Square, Shahr-e Ghaem, Ansar al-Hussein, and mamzadeh Seyyed Ali gathered at the site of Quds Mosalla and pedaling altogether to Ruhollah Square and Beit Imam (RA).

Following holding the closing ceremony and renewing the allegiance with the ideals of Imam Khomeini, founder of the Islamic Revolution, and the martyrs of the revolution rode together back to Mosalla.

At the end of the event, prizes were awarded to some participants by drawing lots.

Earlier, the officials of Qom province had visited the tombs of the martyrs of Behesht Masoumeh Cemetery, participating in an annual ‘dust clearing’ ritual on the occasion of the Fajr Decade.

Every year Iranians mark the anniversary of their Islamic Revolution from February 1 to 11, known as the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies. February 1, 1979, was the date when Ayatollah Khomeini returned from exile.
