Qom officials attend Dust Clearing ceremony at martyrs’ tombs

Tُhe officials of Qom province have visited the tombs of the martyrs of Behesht Masoumeh Cemetery, participating in an annual ‘dust clearing’ ritual on the occasion of the Fajr Decade. 

The dusting-off ceremony is being held annually coincides with the Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies, marking the anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution victory.

In order to renew the allegiance with the ideals of Imam Khomeini, the founder of the Islamic Revolution,  and the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, during the eight years of sacred defense, the dust clearing and flower-laying ceremonies with the presence of provincial managers, military figures along with people from all walks of life were held.

Qom provincial Governor Shahcheraghi, Governor Heidari, Honarmand, Director General of the Martyrs and Veterans Affairs Foundation, were among those who were present at the ceremony.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979, ending the 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.

Every year Iranians mark the anniversary of their Islamic Revolution from February 1 to 11, known as the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies. February 1, 1979, was the date when Ayatollah Khomeini returned from exile.

On February 11 each year, Iranian people pour into the streets in their millions to commemorate the great victory of the Islamic Revolution.
