Qom tours & sports events to be held on occasion of Fajr Decade

The director of the social department of the Cultural, Social, and Sports Organization of Qom Municipality announced that various celebrations and events will be held on the occasion of the Decade of Fajr, marking the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution.

Elaborating on Ten-Day Fajr (Dawn) ceremonies, Mojtaba Bostan said these programs will include Qom tours, visiting historical sites, and sports competitions.

Bostan made the remarks at the meeting of the Fajr Decade Commemoration Headquarters of Qom Municipality.

Referring to the formation of the municipality’s cultural committee on the occasion of the 44th anniversary of the Islamic Revolution victory, he noted that during these days, the Qom Municipality Cultural, Social and Sports Organization will implement programs at three levels of urban, local, and organizational.

The municipality official also stated that cultural programs are planned for all nights of the Fajr Decade of the Islamic Revolution.

Stressing innovating and updating the programs and celebrations of the Fajr Decade of the Revolution, he specified that setting up tourist tours, street songs, visiting historical places, street performances, and holding sports events will be held for citizens on the occasion of these days.

The Iranian nation toppled the US-backed Pahlavi regime on February 11, 1979, ending the 2,500 years of monarchy in the country.

Every year Iranians mark the anniversary of their Islamic Revolution from February 1 to 11, known as the Ten-Day Fajr ceremonies. February 1, 1979 was the date when Ayatollah Khomeini returned from exile.

On February 11 each year, Iranian people pour into the streets in their millions to commemorate the great victory of the Islamic Revolution.
