Qom Municipality to set up audio and video systems on buses

The acting head of transportation and traffic deputy of Qom Municipality has announced that audio and video systems will soon be installed on city buses for blind and deaf citizens.

Qom urban management has always striven to adapt the public space of the city to the needs of different strata of society, Masoud Tabibi stressed in an interview.

Tabibi stated that intercity buses should be redesigned or repaired in such a way that blind people instantly informed of the station where the bus is located, adding an audio system will be set up in the public transport fleet to this end.

Elsewhere in his remarks, he touched upon the importance of paying attention to different dimensions of traffic in the city for various groups of people, like the elderly, and children, especially exceptional ones.

The municipal official previously said that in order to provide services and facilities for all individuals in the society, Qom Municipality’s Transportation and Traffic Organization is seeking to implement special plans for the blind and disabled citizens by the end of the year.

In this regard, the municipality of Qom has already improved the city’s bus stations for the elderly and the disabled people, designed 45 smart intersections with sound warning systems for the blind, and redefined traffic elements to solve the mobility problems and challenges of these people.
