Qom mayor offers condolence on martyrdom anniv. of Gen. Qassem Soleimani

The mayor of Qom has expressed condolences over the second martyrdom anniversary of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani in a message released on Monday.

Dr. Seyeyd Morteza Saghaeiannejad wrote in his message that the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani and his great companions has further highlighted the strategy and discourse of the Resistance.

With martyrdom, General Soleimani’s reign may be over, but his legacy will “always endure”, Saghaeiannejad noted.

He also offered his condolences on the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (PBUH), the noble daughter of Holy Prophet of Islam Hazrat Muhammad (S) to all Muslims across the world.

Undoubtedly, as the martyrdom of Hazrat Fatemeh Zahra (PBUH) considerably contributed to the resistance of Velayat, the martyrdom of the top Iranian commander General Soelimani became the symbol of adherence to the principle of Guardianship and the leader, the mayor stressed.

General Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the deputy head of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), were assassinated along with their companions in a US terror drone strike authorized by Trump near Baghdad International Airport on January 3, 2020.
