Coinciding with special cultural, artistic and sports programs of “Qom Day”, kickboxing competitions of Benevolence Cup was held on Sunday.
Deputy of Sports and Healthy Recreation of Qom Municipality’s Cultural, Artistic and Sports Organization held the event with the cooperation of Imam Ali Ibn Abi Talib (AS) Physical Training Center and IRGC and Basij Martial Arts Board of Qom Province.
300 male and female athletes participated in the kickboxing competitions of Benevolence Cup, which was held in all age categories in the boxing house of Javad Al-Aemeh Sports Complex.
The closing ceremony of the competitions was also held in Martyr Avini Hall of Qom Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and the best individuals were honored with special awards.
In an effort to commemorate the historic Day of Qom, Qom Municipality has performed various cultural and artistic programs.
The programs are aimed at strengthening the residents’ sense of belonging and urban identity and introducing the city’s various scientific and religious dimensions to the citizens.
In 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi al-Awal, as the “Day of Qom”.
