The Deputy of Technical and Construction Affairs at Qom Municipality announced that seven non-planar intersections are currently under construction across the city, with plans to begin two additional projects soon.
In an interview, Abbas Halvaeezadeh stated: “Since the beginning of the year, a total of nine intersections have been completed, including the western loop of the Salamat intersection and the junction of Ayatollah Saduqi Boulevard with Ferdowsi Boulevard, both of which are now operational,” according to Shahr News.
He further mentioned that construction is underway on seven more intersections, with two additional ones scheduled to commence before the end of the year.
Halvaeezadeh emphasized that 25 intersections have been completed in Qom to date, noting that these developments are part of the city’s comprehensive transportation and traffic plan.
Regarding the progress of the Ferdowsi and Prophet Azam Boulevard intersection, he added: “In the next four months, the access route to this area will be finalized, allowing residents and visitors to directly reach the Jamkran Mosque or the Holy Shrine from Namaz Square.”
Halvaeezadeh also highlighted the ongoing development of public parking facilities in the city, citing the 40-Akhtaran parking lot as a major project. Despite challenges related to its ownership, this facility, which can accommodate approximately 94 cars, has been successfully completed.
