The head of the Qom Municipality Bus Organization announced the purchase of 100 new buses by the end of the year.
Ali Nik made the announcement touching upon increasing the quality of the bus fleet of Qom Municipality.
Today, the macro policies of Qom Municipality are aimed at strengthening the public transport fleet, especially the bus fleet, he said.
He considered the reopening of schools as one of the factors that increase the demand for using the bus fleet.
During school holidays and summer, Qom Municipality’s bus fleet transported between 50,000 and 55,000 passengers daily, while this number has increased significantly with the beginning of the Autumn season, he added.
With the reopening of schools and universities, the bus fleet will transport between 90,000 and 95,000 passengers per day, so we are facing an almost double increase in passenger traffic, he underlined.
With the beginning of the Autumn season, the number of buses has also doubled, but the enthusiasm of citizens in using the bus fleet has encouraged the municipality to increase the number of buses, and this has been put on the agenda, he concluded.
