The head of the Qom Islamic City Council says the United States and its allies are using Iran’s peaceful nuclear program activities as a pretext to accuse the Islamic Republic of pursuing military goals.
Dr. Hossein Eslami made the remarks in the 34th official and public session of the city council while referring to the 20th of Farvardin, the National Day of Nuclear Technology.
Following the announcement of Iran’s acquisition of uranium enrichment technology and the launch of a complete enrichment chain on April 10, 2006, Islamic Iran officially became one of the nuclear countries, and this is one of the manifestations of scientific progress and might after the revolution, the councilor stated.
Although Iran’s nuclear program is in line with peaceful purposes, the United States and its allies are using it as a pretext to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of pursuing military goals, he added.
Iran marked the National Nuclear Technology Day across the country by holding various ceremonies.
It should be noted that in recent years, Iranian scientists have made remarkable progress in the field of peaceful nuclear technology despite the sanctions imposed by the West.
