The head of the Cultural, Social and Sports Organization of Qom Municipality announced the setting up of a Calligraphy workshop on the occasion of mid-Shaban with the cooperation of the Holy Mosque of Jamkaran and the Qom Calligraphers Association.
Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Ahmad Tabatabai Nejad made remarks touching upon the coordination with different agencies and departments of the province to hold various programs on the occasion of mid-Shaban (birth anniversary of 12th Shia Imam).
The Calligraphy workshop will be set up in cooperation with the Holy Mosque of Jamkaran during the last days of Sha’ban, he said.
This year’s workshop is will be held following the past year’s workshop with the participation of a large number of Qomi artists and calligraphers, he noted.
Referring to the impact of calligraphy workshops on the production of religious and epistemological content, he stated that the workshop that was held last year in this field was very effective in producing content about the ritual occasion of mid-Shaban.
This would be a one-day workshop and the final time and place will be announced soon, he added.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he highlighted Qom’s high capacity in the art of calligraphy and said Qom is one of the main hubs of calligraphy in the country, and Qom calligraphy artists enjoy a high position in the international arena.
