Coinciding with the National Week of Research and Technology, the mayor of Qom gave a speech at the Islamic Azad University.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad met with the students of the Islamic Azad University in a meeting held on Wednesday.
Speaking at the meeting, Hojjatoleslam Hasan Kheiri, President of Qom Islamic Azad University offered his congratulations on the occasion of national research and technology week.
Qom Islamic Azad University, which is one of the oldest universities in the province, has taken steps to meet the scientific needs of society, and support the students’ activities in the field of research and technology.
Furthermore, Saghaiannejad urged the students to institutionalize the spirit of research in themselves, and help society to develop scientifically.
Last week, the mayor attended a meeting which was held on Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) University of Qom on the occasion of Research Week, stressing that in order for university education to be effective, university research should focus on society’s needs.
He also highlighted the significant role the educational system plays in institutionalizing research among students.
Iran marked the national research and technology week which started from December 11 and continued until December 17.
