Chairman of the Civil Engineering, Transportation and Traffic Commission of Qom City Council has announced that eight significant traffic indicators are being implemented in the strategic document of Qom Urban Management Transportation.
Attending a press conference held on the occasion of National Transportation day, Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Dehnad expressed hope that with the presence of experts in the field of traffic, we will be able to provide new services to citizens in the new era.
70% of the municipal budget is allocated to civil and traffic issues, Dehnad said, adding that given the importance of the traffic issues and the amount of budget allocated to them, Qom City Council is trying to define the best strategies in this area.
He went on to say that based on the comprehensive studies of transportation and traffic and the 5-year plan of the municipality, 8 important indicators have been identified so that we can consider the necessary funds for them in the budgeting process.
Furthermore, he elaborated on the indicators, explaining that increasing the share of the public transport fleet in intercity travel is the first issue that has been addressed.
Making the city secure, paying attention to safe transportation, creating infrastructure, increasing the quality and durability of the pavements, eliminating air pollution, and using the full capacity of the passages are among the other traffic indicators, the municipal official finally said.
