The head of the Qom City Council says the municipality will make a final decision about the monorail destiny in the upcoming visit of Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi to the city of Qom.
Speaking at the 16th public meeting of Qom City Council on Monday, Hosein Eslami referred to the deadline set by the judiciary for making a final decision on the semi-finished monorail project.
In the upcoming visit of Iranian president Ebrahim Raisi to the city of Qom, several important issues, including note 6% and 10% of absolute lands to the municipality, fusion of historical and worn-out urban contexts, and obstacles for the development of the city should be solved, Eslami stated.
The construction of Qom’s monorail system was part of a nationally-coordinated plan to ease traffic congestion in Iran’s major cities.
The project, Iran’s first monorail system, was being implemented by a joint venture of MAPNA Group and Kayson Company within the framework of an EPC contract.
