‘Qom Day’ & introduction of tourist attractions: Gholi Darvish ancient hill

In addition to its religious significance, the city of Qom enjoys amazing attractions and civilizations that have been given very little consideration.

The ancient hill of “Gholi Darvish” is one of the anonymous attractions, which is historically and prehistorically unique in the Middle East.

According to archaeologists, the historical hill of “Gholi Darvish” can be called one of the foundations of urbanization and the pole of Iran’s Iron Age.

In the Iron Age and Neolithic period, there is no specific settlement site, but in Gholi Darvish hill of Qom, there is a city with all the characteristics and social and economic relations.

The hill, located on Qom-Jamkaran highway, is one of the most important ancient bases in the central part of the Iranian plateau.

The hill’s area is more than 100 hectares, of which today about 30 hectares are flat. It consists of three main periods including the Old Bronze Age, the New Bronze Age, and the Iron Age I.

It should be noted that considering Qom’s unique capacity to attract tourists, the municipality of Qom has started to introduce the tourist and historical attractions of the city as one of the goals and approaches of “Qom Day”.
