The mayor of Qom, accompanied by some urban and provincial officials, rang the bell of “Qom Day” in Ababasir exceptional school on Saturday.
Speaking at the ringing ceremony, Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaghiannejad said that Qom municipality is seeking to introduce the city’s numerous capacities to citizens and pilgrims on the Day of Qom.
The municipality intends to transform Qom into the cultural capital of the Islamic world by the next 5 years so that the necessary platform will be provided to introduce the city’s capacities in various dimensions at the international level, Saghaghiannejad noted.
In another part of the ceremony, the custodian of the Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh shrine in Qom appreciated the municipality’s decision to choose the Ababsir exceptional school to ring the bell of Qom day.
Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Saeedi also spoke about the importance of the city of Qom, the high position of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS), and the commemoration of Qom Day.
Finally, Qom urban managers presented awards to exceptional students at the end of the ceremony.
Qom municipality has provided various plans, including 23 special cultural and artistic programs, to celebrate the historic day of Qom.
In 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi al-Awal, as the ‘Day of Qom’.
