Qom Municipality lit up the city’s sky with fireworks on the night of 23rd of Rabi al-Awal which marks the arrival anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) from Saveh to Qom.
Cultural, Artistic, and Sports Organization of Qom Municipality lit up the city’s sky with fireworks with the cooperation of more than 100 mosques in the city.
Mehdi Kalantarzadeh, Director General of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality had earlier stated that these events are held in order to strengthen the social vitality and create enthusiasm and happiness for the citizens.
Moreover, the Municipality of Qom has prepared various special programs on the occasion of the arrival anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, which is named ‘Qom Day’.
The programs are aimed at strengthening the residents’ sense of belonging and urban identity and introducing the city’s various scientific and religious dimensions to the citizens and pilgrims.
In 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi al-Awal, as the ‘Day of Qom’.
Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS), known as Karimeh Ahl-ul-Bayt, is the daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (AS), the 7th Shia Imam, and the sister of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Holy Imam. Every year, millions of Shia Muslims travel to Qom to honor Fatemeh Masomeh at her shrine.
