In a message released on Friday, Qom mayor commemorated the arrival anniversary of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom and “Day of Qom”.
Honoring this great occasion, Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaghiannejad emphasized that Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) is a clear symbol of the significant role a women has played in the history of the Islamic world.
Last week, Saghaghiannejad ordered to celebrate “Qom Day” by beautifying the city and the spiritual and historical place of Beit al-Noor – the 17-day residence of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom.
In this regard, Qom municipality decorated the holy shrine of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) in a flower-laying ceremony which was held on Friday with the presence of her shrine’s servants.
Over the last three years, various programs have been performed to celebrate this historic day, which marked a turning point in the development of the city of Qom.
In 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi al-Awal, as the ‘Day of Qom’.
Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS), known as Karimeh Ahl-ul-Bayt, is the daughter of Imam Musa Kazim (AS), the 7th Shia Imam and the sister of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Holy Imam. Every year, millions of Shia Muslims travel to Qom to honor Fatemeh Masomeh at her shrine.
