The head of the Cultural and Social Commission of the Qom City Council says strengthening the platform and creating opportunities for the prosperity of the urban economy and the development of tourism are important goals of ‘Qom Day’.
Mostafa Molaei made the remarks in the 11th public meeting of Qom City Council on Monday.
Elaborating on the origins of naming ‘Qom Day’, Molaei stated that in 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) to Qom as the ‘Day of Qom’.
The measure aimed at strengthening the sense of belonging and urban identity and introducing various scientific and religious dimensions to the citizens, he noted.
He went on to say that the municipality and other cultural institutions should try to properly introduce the cultural, social and historical capacities of Qom to the citizens and pilgrims by providing various programs for the ‘Qom Day’.
Introducing investment platforms and urban economy, especially in the field of services and tourism, is one of the main goals of Qom Day at the national and international levels, the member of Qom City Council stressed.
He finally announced that ‘Qom Day’ will be celebrated on October 30 with various cultural and religious programs.
