The acting head of transportation and traffic deputy of municipality says resolving traffic problems for the blind is on the top agenda of Qom Municipality.
Emphasizing on the necessity to pay attention to all sections of society in urban design, Masoud Tabibi stated that the city’s transportation network must be designed to meet the needs of all sections of society so that the rights of people, like the blind, will not be undermined.
Tabibi also touched upon the realization of citizenship rights of the blind, saying we should take necessary measures to accelerate the daily traffic of these people and resolve their problems in the field of traffic at the earliest opportunity.
Qom Municipality is mainly concerned about making public transportation accessible to all individuals, he noted, adding that easy and safe use of public transportation is one of the rights of the blind and people with reduced mobility.
Furthermore, the municipal official announced that the municipality is ready to hold the International White Cane Day safely.
The acting head of transportation and traffic deputy of municipality finally reiterated that holding the International White Cane Day safely is only a small part of Qom Municipality’s attention to these people and the needs, adding that the realization of their citizenship rights should be on the top agenda.
