In a message released on Thursday, the Mayor of Qom has offered his congratulation on the arrival of the new academic year to the students, and scholars across the country.
Devoted teachers and professors in schools, universities, and seminaries, and students are all part of the country’s great scientific community who must pursue various aspects of education, especially fostering creativity and skills, Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad wrote in his message on September 23.
Saghaiannejad went on to say that now, in a situation where educational matters have been challenged by the coronavirus restrictions, students and teachers must try to achieve a high level of science by using new strategies and methods in education, as in the past.
Each year, Iranian students start the school year on September 23, which marks the first day of autumn on the Iranian calendar, after three-month summer vacation, while this year, in light of the pandemic, the school year will start a month later.
This year, education is in three forms of in-person, virtual, and television-based.
Teachers and school staff already received the first dose of vaccination and the second dose has been started.
Moreover, Iranian Health Minister Bahram Einollahi announced on September 19 that the vaccination of the country’s school students aged between 12 to 18 years started today.
Einollahi also said that the Health Ministry’s plan to vaccinate the students aged between 7 to 12 years, too, will start after the end of this phase.
