Managing director of Qom city train has announced that the third rail cargo entered the Qom metro project.
Mansour Darvishi stressed that the construction of Qom metro is constantly underway, saying our priority is to implement the third rail in the first phase of line one of Qom city train.
According to the calculations and plans that have been made for the operation of the first phase, we purchased about 18 km of the third rail and its accessories, Darvishi noted.
He also stated that the first shipment arrived on September 7, and is ready for the installation.
The surfacing of the first line of the Qom metro project has been completed and the surfacing of the second phase has begun, he said, adding it expected that the preparations for installing the third rail will be started in the next 15 to 20 days.
Managing director of Qom city train went on to say that 250 to 300 meters of rails can be installed daily, so as the surfacing operation completes, the contractor will immediately starts to install the third rail.
Our priority is to install the third rail in the six-kilometer tunnel between Station 9 and Station 14 and then to install the depot area, he emphasized.
