The head of Qom Municipality Development and Civil Engineering Organization has announced that all parks and recreation areas in Qom are closed to limit the further spread of coronavirus.
Referring to the improper situation of coronavirus outbreak in the city, Payam Javadian said according to the announcement of the National Coronavirus Headquarters, Qom has an unfavorable coronavirus situation, so some urban areas are closed to prevent crowds.
As per the announcements, the entrances of all parks and green spaces are closed from August 16-22 to combat the fifth coronavirus wave, Javadian noted.
Iran has seen a significant surge in the number of coronavirus deaths and infections in recent days as the Delta variant of the virus continues to spread across the country.
So to prevent the further spread of coronavirus, Iran imposed a six-day-long “general lockdown” in cities across the country after being hit by the fifth wave of the Covid-19 pandemic.
The lockdown includes all bazaars, markets, and public offices, as well as movie theatres, gyms, restaurants, and parks in all Iranian cities.
The national coronavirus taskforce, which issued the decision, also ordered a travel ban between all Iranian cities from Sunday to Friday.
“A sum of 50,228 new patients infected with COVID-19 have been identified in the country based on confirmed diagnosis criteria during the past 24 hours,” the Iranian Health Ministry Public Relations Center said on Tuesday, and added, “5,044 of whom were hospitalized during the past 24 hours.”
