The head of the Transportation and Traffic Organization of Qom Municipality says in the last few years, the municipality has made the urban transportation smart and increased the citizens’ satisfaction.
Stressing the importance of making urban transportation smart, Qasem Talebi stated that the municipality has recently tried to take measures in this regard, including making traffic smart in the city’s parking lots.
To do so, mechanized cameras have been installed in the parking lots and the intersections are started to be made smart, Talebi noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he referred to the duties and activities of the Transportation and Traffic Organization, saying due to the increase of car traffic and city accidents, the expansion of cities and urban roads, as well as the decrease in road safety, we created an organization in order to improve the urban traffic and decrease the number of accidents.
He went on to say that the transportation and Traffic Organization of Qom Municipality must take important responsibilities in order to implement the policies of urban transportation, facilitate traffic, and strengthen the qualitative and quantitative expansion of the culture of citizenship.
Installing vertical and horizontal signboards, constructing and maintaining motorcycle and car parks, promoting and strengthening citizens’ education culture, monitoring the performance of technical inspection centers, building and installing pedestrian stairs, organizing parking meters, and troubleshooting traffic lights are among the organization’s responsibilities, the municipal official added.
