The governor of Qom has appreciated the municipality’s measures in improving the cultural and historical context of the city.
“Qom Municipality has fulfilled its mission in recreating the historical context,” said Bahram Sarmast on the sidelines of visiting the cultural and historical centers improvement projects on Saturday.
Stressing the importance of historical context revival and recreation, Sarmast stated that in order to improve the city’s historical context, particularly old bazaar, there should be active cooperation among the municipality, cultural heritage, guilds and merchants.
If the plan is implemented comprehensively, it will have a positive impact on religious and pilgrimage tourism, handicrafts, economic and commercial capacity of the city of Qom, he noted.
Qom governor also said if the proper conditions are created, the three areas of tourism, pilgrimage and trade will be combined in religious tourism, adding that to this end, various projects are underway to organize the areas surrounding the holy shrine of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS).
He went on to say that the total historical area of Qom is 315 hectares, which we seek to preserve its historical identity in order to provide both the economic interests of the citizens and new construction patterns in this historical context.
On the fifth week of the ‘Qom on the path of development’ plan, some cultural and historical centers improvement projects were inaugurated in the presence of provincial officials and city managers.
