Deputy of Finance and Economy of Qom Municipality says the municipality makes great efforts to make best use of domestic products and capacities.
Qom metro project is great example of relying on domestic production and a large part of its equipment is provided by Iranian companies, said Seyed Morteza Hesam Nejad in an interview with reporters.
Touching upon the importance of supporting domestic production, Hesam Nejad stated that there should be paid special attention to domestic products in the construction industry.
He went on to say that more than 90 percent of the construction industry is produced domestically so its prosperity will lead to job creation and economic development.
The municipality has supported the construction industry by facilitation, toll installments and other measures, the municipal official noted, adding last year, more than two million square meters of licenses were issued, which has created some jobs and supported domestic production for more than 300 jobs related to the construction industry.
Moreover, the municipality has dedicated specific budget to constructing roads, bridges and parks, maintaining green space and urban products, etc., he said.
He also referred to the significant role the knowledge-based companies and university resources have played in relying on domestic products.
If there is the slightest potential in using domestic power, foreign services will not be used at all, Deputy of Finance and Economy of Qom Municipality stressed, saying the municipality strives to make maximum use of domestic capacity in the fields of construction, traffic, municipal services, etc.
