‘Salam’ non-level intersection has been launched following the inauguration of the municipality’s urban projects in the framework of “Qom on the path of development” plan.
On the fourth week of inaugurations, a significant transit non-level intersection named ‘Salam’ was opened on Wednesday during a ceremony attended by Ayatollah Saeedi, the Supreme Leader’s representative in Qom province, Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad, Qom mayor, deputy governor of Qom, chairman and members of the Islamic Council of the city and other city officials.
Qom Municipality Development and Civil Engineering Organization started the project in August 2019 in an area of 800 square meters.
The organization implemented ‘Salam’ non-level intersection by the installation of pillars, 1,800 square meters of wall construction, as well as 37,500 square meters of embankment and excavation.
To implement the project, which is located at the intersection of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) Boulevard and Imam Ali (AS) Ring Road, 145 billion rials have been spent.
Traffic smoothing at the intersection of Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) Boulevard and Imam Ali (AS) Ring Road, connection and proper access of Imam Ali (AS) Ring Road and Hazrat Masoumeh (AS) Boulevard by creating ramps and loops and improving the intersection are the main goals of the project.
Main features of ‘Salam’ non-level intersection include making a proper connection between the two arterial axes of Hazrat Masoumeh Boulevard and Imam Ali Ring Road, constructing an underpass in the main route of Imam Ali Ring Road without interrupting the traffic flow, as well as creating a suitable green space inside the ramps and loops.
The mayor of Qom Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad had earlier announced that 45 projects will be opened during 12 weeks in the framework of “Qom on the path of development” plan.
