The managing director of the Qom Municipality Transportation and Traffic Organization has announced the implementation of a supplemental insurance plan for taxi drivers for the first time in the city of Qom.
Referring to the unprecedented nature of this measure, Ali Nik said the supplemental insurance plan has been implemented for 1,300 taxi drivers in the first stage.
The CEO of Qom Municipality Transportation and Traffic Organization reiterated that as the plan was very welcomed, we are ready to apply it to all 5,000 active taxi drivers in Qom.
Supplemental insurance for taxi drivers has been done by the taxi drivers’ cooperative company and the cost set for each taxi driver and his family members is 450,000 rials, of which 54,000 Rials are the administrative expenses of the cooperative company, he added.
He also emphasized that by implementing the plan, drivers would receive a variety of quality medical services and their treatment costs are reduced.
He went on to say that the Deputy of Traffic Transportation of the Municipality and the Taxi Organization seeks to provide appropriate welfare services to taxi drivers, expressing hope that the services will gradually be improved.
