The spokesman of Qom Municipality Fire and Safety Services Department announced that fire safety training courses are being held for citizens to promote people’s awareness in this regard.
Speaking to reporters, Hamid Karimi said that the Fire Department’s education center has been holding several fire safety and prevention courses to teach citizens how to deal with fire incidents.
We also hold special courses for children to train them in the field of fire emergency measures, he said while adding that the pandemic has imposed serious obstacles which need to be removed by adopting certain procedures.
Moreover, he stated that major progress has been made in handling fire accidents and other such incidents during the past 10 years, and expressed hope for further advances.
The annual number of fire fatalities gradually falling throughout a decade and now reached five or six, Karimi added.
Referring to the decrease in the annual fire death toll in the city of Qom, he described it as a great achievement which is resulted from the round-the-clock efforts of the Fire Department’s firefighters.
saying Qom is among the top three metropolises in the country in the area of fire safety measures, the spokesperson underlined that Qom municipality’s Fire department enjoys 24 fire stations across the city.
He added that the Fire Department also admits female volunteers for training courses.
