Qom Municipality Deputy of Transportation and Traffic has announced that Qom north terminal will be organized by the end of 2021 so it can provide monthly services to five thousand passengers when the coronavirus pandemic ends.
Since 20 million pilgrims enter the city of Qom annually, it needs special services in the field of transportation, Abbas Zakerian said.
The municipality official stressed the importance of the city’s traffic infrastructures, saying organizing and constructing passenger terminals should be on the agenda.
He announced that landscaping of the north terminal will be completed by the end of the year, adding currently, more than 60% of the project has been finished and more than 8,000 square meters of green space has been designed for it.
With an area of 67,000 square meters, the terminal is one of the closest places to the city center and the destination of buses to pick up or drop off passengers and pilgrims to enter the city and leave it, Zakerian added.
He also expressed hope that when this terminal is organized and the trips resumed, it is possible to travel to 50 cities of the country and the pilgrims will return to the city of Qom after the coronavirus pandemic.
