The deputy of municipal services of Qom municipality stated that the organization has reduced water consumption of green spaces by the implementation of water transmission networks and new methods of irrigation.
Seyyed Amir Sameh emphasized the use of sustainable water resources for the irrigation of the city’s green space, saying that currently, the use of drinking water has greatly decreased in this field.
Touching upon the agreements for transferring part of the city’s gray water, Sameh said in return for reducing the use of drinking water, it was decided to provide sustainable water resources to the municipality, which is also important in the implementation of various projects.
Elsewhere in his remarks, he pointed to the policies developed on the issue of green space in Qom and said the city’s urban climate is of great significance in this regard.
It is very important for us to be able to have green space in accordance with the climate of Qom in terms of bed, soil, air, and water consumption, he noted.
Referring to the beginning of several study projects in 2015, Sameh reiterated that these projects aimed at identifying suitable plant species for the city of Qom, the comprehensive water plan, registration, and revitalization of gardens.
The municipal official concluded that in the comprehensive study plans of urban green space, the least amount of extraction from underground resources and appropriate productivity have been pursued as a priority.
