The 4th District manager of Qom Municipality has made the announcement that there are 123 city and forest parks in this district, saying 210 billion rials are annually spent on maintaining the green space of this urban area.
Referring to the per capita green space of the 4th district, Mehdi Esfahanian Moghaddam stated that in 2015, the total area of green space in this area amounted to 2 million and 350 thousand square meters, which in 2020 this area reached more than 5 million and 150 thousand square meters.
Esfahanian Moghaddam touched upon the plan to increase and upgrade green space per capita in the region in recent years, and reiterated that comprehensive planning has been done in order to increase the number of parks and the per capita green space in forest and urban areas.
Considering the geographical conditions of District 4, increasing the per capita green space has an effective role in improving the air quality of all eight regions and softening the urban environment, he noted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the 4th District manager of Qom Municipality said due to the efforts and macro-management plans, 73 urban parks and 7 forest parks in 2015 increased to 105 urban parks and 18 forest parks in 2020.
He went on to say that District 4 ranks first among the city’s 8 districts in terms of green space per capita, and we hope that this plan will continue at a faster pace this year.
