The governor of Qom along with some provincial officials planted saplings on the occasion of the National Natural Resources week and the National Arbor Day.
In a move to mark the National Week of Natural Resources and Arbor Day, the planting ceremony was held in the presence of the Governor of Qom, the Deputy Coordinator of Civil Affairs, the Director General of the Parks and Green Space Organization of Qom Municipality, and other officials of the province and city in Qom Governorate.
This ceremony was held nationwide and via the video conference with President Hassan Rouhani in attendance.

Every year, just before the Iranian New Year, millions of Iranians plant trees to mark the tree-planting week and hail the advent of spring.
National Tree Planting Day, is annually celebrated on the fifteenth day of Esfand, the last month on the Iranian calendar, which usually corresponds with March 5. The day marks the beginning of National Week of Natural Resources (March 5-12).
