in appreciation of medical staff efforts, the municipality of Qom names a non-level intersection after Health Defenders.
An inauguration ceremony was held with senior municipality officials, health workers, clerics, and dignitaries in attendance.
The Head of the Qom University of Medical Sciences was also among the speakers.
Mohammadreza Qadir stated that the performance of the Iranian medical staff at the end of the corona outbreak can be judged, but now in all official sources and statistics, the performance of the Islamic Republic is better than many developed countries in the world.
While admiring the municipality’s move, he noted that several health defenders including administrative and service forces in the hospitals, nurses, and doctors have sacrificed their lives for the patients battling with the COVID-19 during the pandemic.
We owe a lot to martyred health defenders who have worked hard over the last year to save the lives of the patients despite all the shortages, he added.
The efforts of health defenders have gone beyond self-sacrifice, and the honor of the medical community, nurses, and health professionals has been well defended, he stressed.
He said that that people try to avoid gatherings and public places but the health defenders are forced to take care of those individuals battling with the coronavirus, putting them in greater danger but they still carry out their missions with love.
The country’s total COVID-19 deaths are 59,663, and 1,358,541 patients out of a total of 1,590,605 infected people have recovered or been discharged from the hospitals.
