The CEO of Qom Municipality Transportation and Traffic Organization announced that bicycle parking racks will be built at the nearest location to the entrance of offices at the request of offices and organizations.
Ali Nik stated that the requests came after setting up of bicycle parking at the entrance of the Qom Municipality.
Regarding the finalization of the comprehensive plan of cycling in Qom, he said, “Promoting cycling culture requires the creation of proper infrastructures.”
The Qom Municipality official noted that one of the factors encouraging citizens to use bicycle is the existence of bicycle parking in the city while adding that one of the problems of citizens is the lack of safe place for parking their bicycles.”
In the first step, in front of the main building of Qom Municipality, bicycle parking racks have been set up, of which some parts are allocated to the client and some other to the staff, Nik said.
Nik described the selection of the nearest place to the entrance of offices and organizations to install bicycle racks as a privilege to encourage citizens.
He went on to add that any office and organization that requests for bicycle parking, the necessary measures will be taken in this regard.
He then referred to the implementation of the comprehensive cycling plan and asserted that after setting up of the bike lane separators in the main streets by the Transportation and Traffic Organization, it will continue to work by installing signs and painting the route.
