In recent years, Qom municipality has tried to revive the historical fabric of the city with the aim of preserving urban identity and developing tourism. Qom is a city of seven thousand years of civilization that was considered an important city in different historical periods.
Today there are many monuments from previous centuries in the historical fabric of the city. Qom municipality is trying to prepare the city to attract tourists by reviving these monuments. One of the important measures in this regard is the revival of the historic caravanserai of Mullah Hussain. The caravanserai, which belongs to the Safavid period, is located adjacent to the Old Bazar.
The municipality intends to turn the Old Bazar into a place to present urban history and culture by reviving this historical axis. In this regard, measures are planned, including inviting craft artists to attend the site and rebuilding historical sites adjacent to the Bazar, such as the caravanserai and the reservoir.
