The mayor of Qom said that 50 vans would be purchased for transportation around the holy shrine and schools and special services in the city.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad made the remarks in the 65th public and official Qom Islamic City Council session.
He stressed the need to buy 50 vans within a certain period of time and stated that the vans belong to the taxi fleet and the taxi fleet is considered a private sector.
He said that the municipality is not going to take over the responsibility of the private sector and become a burden on us.
The mayor added, “In the letter of the Ministry of Interior, there are two requirements for the purchase of vans for municipalities; One is not to hand over these vans to others, and this means that the municipality must hire drivers to operate these vans.”
According to this condition of not handing over to others, these vans must be used in the taxi fleet, one of the things considered for these vans will be used around the shrine instead of an electric car, and maybe we can use it as an aid in education administration, he concluded.
