The mayor of Qom says the goal of the city management group of this initiative was to introduce and actualize the cultural, tourism, pilgrimage and economic capacities of the city, referring to naming the anniversary of Hazrat Masoumeh’s arrival in Qom as “Qom Day”.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad made the comments at the first specialized meeting of Resistance Tourism which was held in the Rezvan hall of Qom Municipality.
During the past years, various and numerous programs have been held to introduce Qom to the people, and this day is an honorable opportunity to express the capacity of Qom and develop the economic, cultural and social activities of Qom province, which can be used to the fullest, he asserted.
Elsewhere in his remarks, the mayor of Qom considered the liberation movements of the past century as the prelude to the formation of the Islamic Revolution.
The crystallization of all the freedom-seeking movements of the past two centuries has been manifested in the Islamic Revolution of Iran, he stressed.
In 2019, the Provincial Public Culture Council named the anniversary of the arrival of Hazrat Fatemeh Masoumeh (AS) in Qom, coinciding with the 23rd of Rabi al-Awal, as the ‘Day of Qom’.
