The mayor of Qom said that the supply of wagons is the most important need of the Qom city train, stressing the opening of line one of the metro is waiting for the supply of the required wagons.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saqaiannejad made the remarks on the sidelines of the visit of the executive vice president to the Qom city train.
Stating that the Qom metro needs a total of 113 train rams, he clarified, “Out of the 80 rams committed by the government, none of the rams have been provided and put at the disposal of the Qom municipality.”
The mayor went on to note that in the 3 years remaining until the operation of Mashhad Metro Line 2, two Mashhad City Train rams can be rented or purchased.
Saqaiannejad reiterated that Qom municipality has been trying to buy or rent two trains from the Tehran subway for the past few months, but so far there has been no success in this regard either.
The mayor of Qom concluded that in the form of agreements and multilateral cooperation between the government and the metropolises, there is a possibility of securing and operating the Qom metro in the near future.
