The mayor of Qom says 57% of the consumption of drinking water in the urban green spaces of Qom has decreased to about 17% over the past years, and if 8 wells of Qom Municipality are handed over, the use of drinking water in these areas will be close to zero.
Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saqaiannejad made the remarks in a meeting with the Chief Justice and directors of judicial courts of the province, appreciating the cooperation of the judiciary in advancing the goals of the Qom urban management sector.
Referring to the tangible reduction in the use of urban drinking water in urban parks and gardens, he stated, “The consumption of 57% of drinking water in the green spaces of Qom has decreased to about 17% over the past years, and if 8 wells of Qom Municipality are handed over, the use of drinking water in these areas will be close to zero.”
Stressing the necessity of supplying the required water and the quantitative and qualitative development of urban green areas, the mayor added that out of the 13 agreed wells, only 5 wells have been provided to the municipality.
He also presented a report on the latest situation and measures taken by the Qom urban management sector regarding the organization and regeneration of urban decay structures.
