The director of the Qom Municipality Fire and Safety Services Department says currently, we have about 1230 trained volunteer firefighters in the city who serve the department in critical situations.
Abbas Jafari made the remarks referring to the situation of the staff and operational forces of the Qom Municipality Fire Department.
Qom Municipality Fire Department has 530 personnel, of which 487 are operational personnel, he stated.
He went on to say that these operational forces are organized in three shifts.
According to international standards, for every 2,500 citizens, we should have a firefighter, in this case, we have not yet reached the standard, he added.
The director of the Qom Municipality Fire and Safety Services Department noted, “Currently, we have about 1230 trained volunteer firefighters in the city who serve the department in critical situations.”
He pointed to the vehicle and operational equipment of the fire department and added, “At present, there are 100 rescue and operational vehicles in Qom Fire Department. In this regard, considering that Qom is one of the five high-ranking metropolises of the country, it is necessary that the process of increasing equipment and updating facilities be always continued.”
