A memorandum of understanding on establishing cooperation relations between the cities of Qom of the Islamic Republic and Niamey the Republic of Niger was signed in the presence of the mayors of these cities.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between Qom and Niamey on the sidelines of the meeting between Dr. Saghaiannejad, Mayor of Qom, and Oumarou Dogari Moumouni, Mayor of Niamey, Niger.
The following is the text of this memorandum of understanding:
In order to develop and strengthen the long-standing and friendly relations between the two cities of Niamey (Republic of Niger) and the city of Qom (Islamic Republic of Iran), henceforth called the parties, with expressing the desire to communicate and considering the religious affinities and the prominent position of Qom city in hosting different ethnicities and nationalities and the existence of international institutions, they will expand their inter-city cooperation relations.
This Memorandum of Understanding, following the principles of friendly relations, declares the establishment of relations of cooperation between the parties within the framework of existing facilities and the current laws of the two countries, in the following areas;
1- Cooperation in cultural affairs (for example: holding a bilateral cultural exhibition, implementing cultural projects and programs in both cities)
2- Mutual investment in creating infrastructure
3- Exchange of experiences and use of Qom city capabilities in the field of wet and dry waste collection, mechanized waste collection, processing and conversion industries (supply of electricity or fertilizer)
4- Using the experiences of Qom city in the field of smart transportation and sustainable urban development
5- Using the capabilities of Qom city in the field of construction and installation of traffic equipment and creating the necessary facilities for easy commuting of citizens
6- Cooperation in the field of religious tourism and medicine
7- Using the experiences and capabilities of Qom city in the field of creating and managing recreational attractions such as amusement and interactive parks
