We have done our job as Qom Municipality and fulfilled our obligations, but some matters are not within our scope of authority, says the CEO of Qom Municipality Urban Train Organization.
Mansour Darvishi made the remarks, pointing to the scope of municipal authority in the field of rail transportation.
Addressing a meeting of the Civil Engineering and Transportation Commission of the Islamic City Council of Qom which was held at the Qom Metro Depot workshop, the municipality official examined the problems of the implementation of the metro project since 2019.
We have to consider the limitations that existed in the metro project before 2019, such as the contract problems we had with the contractor and the outbreak of the coronavirus epidemic, he stated.
He announced the 95% progress of Shahid Motahari station and noted, “Keshavarz Square station is about 87% complete due to ownership problems; Last year, the hot test of the metro was supposed to be done with one railway line, and now two railway lines of the route have been prepared.”
The director of Qom Municipality Urban Train Organization concluded that phase one of line A, which was 14.8 km, has about 2 km of unfinished tunnels, and the first phase has 6 stations, 2 of which are passenger stations, and we hope that the issue of escalators and elevators will be resolved soon.
