The head of the Waste Management Organization of Qom Municipality announced the implementation of happy show programs to raise awareness and train the optimal waste management in the parks of the city.
Seyed Abdullah Mirebrahimi made the announcement referring to the importance of implementing educational programs.
Educating and raising the level of citizens’ awareness about reducing waste production, waste separation at source, shrinkage, waste dehumidification, the benefits of recycling and return of usable materials to the production cycle are among the goals of the municipal waste management organization, he stated.
According to the head of the Qom Municipality Waste Management Organization, educating families to separate and segregate waste from the source is one of the first steps in municipal waste management, he said.
Providing a platform for participation and interaction with citizens along with providing specialized training in environmental issues is one of the measures of the waste management organization that will be implemented continuously throughout the year, he added.
He noted that a festival that is named “Happy Earth” will be held n the parks of the city and the concepts of waste management will be taught to the citizens in the form of shows and competitions.
