The Director General of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality emphasized creating a new and scientific structure for this field in the municipality with the aim of carrying out defined missions and goals, especially in attracting social capital.
Mehdi Kalantarzadeh made the remarks in a press conference coinciding with the 27th of Ordibehesht, the International Day of Communication and Public Relations which is marked in honor of the memory and name of Martyr Hossein Molavi, who was in charge of public relations in Qom Municipality during his tenure.
Referring to the role of public relations in improving the performance of bodies, he stated, “In the current situation and in the general view of public relations, the bodies do not have a scientific and up-to-date structure, and based on the necessity of change in this field, in Qom Municipality, an attempt has been made to create a new structure in the field of communications and public relations with a scientific view.”
He then elaborated on the division of tasks based on 7 key principles of scientific and modern public relations in the new organizational structure of the General Directorate of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality during the past three years with the aim of achieving the desired conditions and attracting social capital.
“In the field of environmental advertising, with a 33% increase in advertising structures compared to previous years, we have created a good ground for doing this, especially in topics related to cultural issues, information and public awareness.”
Qom History Museum to be built
Kalantarzadeh further announced the implementation of the Qom History Museum project with the consent and order of the Mayor of Qom.
He went on to note thatو ؛Soon, a 108-year-old document from the beginning of Qom Municipality’s activities will be unveiled, and we should be proud that Qom was the second city in the country to have a municipality, and the activities of the urban area were carried out in an organizational format.”
Attracting students in the field of public relations
He announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding with the Applied Science Center of Qom Municipality to create a field for attracting students in the field of public relations.
“During the last three years, 112 press conferences have been held with the presence of the mayor, deputies, managers and CEOs of the affiliated organizations of Qom Municipality, and more than 18,000 news items have been produced in the field of information.”
87% of citizens satisfied with terminal 137 performance
“Terminal 137 is active 24 hours a day in three sections: registration of claims through experts, follow-up by representatives of different regions and departments, and receiving feedback through direct contact with citizens.”
And in the evaluations, citizens were more than 87% satisfied with the performance of this system, he added.
Launching City Watch application software
Kalantarzadeh announced the launch of the “City Watch” application software for direct communication between citizens and Qom Municipality in the near future.
Soon, this direct communication in cyberspace will be possible through Qom-yar software, and citizens can upload their messages in the form of text, photos, videos and audio in this software, and after registering, they will be informed about its tracking steps, he stated.
Qom Municipality portal active in 3-language
Director General of Communications and International Affairs of Qom Municipality touched upon the activities of the International Department of Qom Municipality such as preparing infrastructure processes like sisterhood contracts between Qom and other world cities, developing interactions with international organizations including UNDP and participating in specialized meetings of urban management.
The English and Arabic portals of Qom Municipality are active on a daily basis and the fourth language of the site will be activated soon, he concluded.
