The Romanian ambassador to Iran took a trip to Qom this morning and met with the mayor of Qom.
While in Qom, Mirela Grecu, the Romanian ambassador to Iran, held talks with the maror of Qom, Dr. Morteza Saghaiannejad on Wednesday.
During her trip to Qom, Romania’s envoy was accompanied by Rene Mihai Shikaro, Political Advisor, and Zahra Elena Tahmasebi, an employee of the Romanian Embassy.
Bilateral ties and cultural exchanges were discussed in the Wednesday meeting.
In the meeting, the Romanian ambassador referred to the history of relations between Iran and Romania and the interest of her country in expanding cultural and social relations with the city of Qom.
She further expressed the embassy’s willingness for more communication in common fields.
Dr. Saghaiannejad, for his part, welcomed the expansion of relations between Qom and cities with a common ground in Romania.
The mayor also highlighted the cultural capacities and achievements of Qom urban management.
He then announced the Qom management sector’s readiness to cooperate with Romania in the framework of the Islamic Republic’s relations with the country.
Hamid Makarem, the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs office in Qom, was also present at the meeting and welcomed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ facilitation of the expansion of Qom’s cultural ties with other countries.
