In a message issued on Sunday, the mayor of Qom, Dr. Seyyed Morteza Saghaiannejad, has congratulated the arrival of National Teacher’s Day.
The text of this message is as follows:
Referring to the history of the beginning of Islam and reviewing the events of the resurrection of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) shows the existence of a trace of education in the first words revealed to the heart of the Prophet (PBUH).
In the first verses of the Holy Quran that were revealed to the Prophet (PBUH), there is talk of pen and teaching. In Surah Al-Imran, God has considered education and cultivation as the main task of the Holy Prophet of Islam, and the existence of a surah called Qalam (Arabic word for pen) in the Holy Quran indicates the importance of the position of teacher and the issue of education.
n the Qur’an we read that God first taught man the divine names and then commanded the angels to prostrate to him; That is, the position of prostration of angels is specific to trained human beings.
If we look at the collection of Islamic verses and hadiths about the important pillar of education in society, we would well understand that teaching is the job of the prophets and this position has a high value. In today’s society, this position has shown its importance in a double way, because teachers are the center of the development of societies and the starting point of production and excellence by training human forces.
In addition to commemorating the anniversary of the martyrdom of Ayatollah Morteza Motahhari, I congratulate the arrival of Teacher’s Week to these loved ones. It is hoped that all those who work in this sacred work will realize the invaluable value of their work and that society will become more and more aware of the significance of this sacred work.
